| mental images Introduces RealityServer AppLab for Easy Setup and Sharing of 3D Content on the Web |
February 3, 2010 -- mental images, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the NVIDIA Corporation, today unveiled the RealityServer AppLab toolset, which makes it possible for users to upload 3D content within seconds, and to visualize, share and interact with it on any Internet connected device.
The graphical user interface, accessible through a standard web browser, is specifically designed to assist new as well as experienced users with the evaluation of the RealityServer web application service platform. An integrated documentation center guides developers through interactive tutorials and examples, showing them how to create compelling 3D web services that fit their needs.
In addition to the complete feature set of RealityServer AppLab adds an easy to use management system and off-the-shelf viewing tools. Four key functions are provided by AppLab, all of which are easily found on the home screen of the interface:
- Configuration interface allows users to control operational settings of their RealityServer installation and restart the server as required
- Documentation, along with interactive tutorials and examples, is provided via the new Document Center system which unifies all RealityServer documentation in one easy-to-navigate location
- Content Management allows users to upload their 3D assets to RealityServer and automatically insert them into a viewing application which can be shared with other users over the Internet
- AppLab also continually monitors the status of the server
The RealityServer AppLab toolset can be either deployed on a local server or in the Cloud.
